Refrigerant Tracking

The Clean Air Act of 1990 and subsequent amendments through the years has made tracking refrigerant critical for service contractors and building owners.  Section 608 of the Refrigerant Recycling Rule, does little to spell out what is required for record keeping, only that it is required and establishes fines should non-compliance be discovered. Per the EPA website on Section 608, the EPA is performing random inspections, responding to tips, and pursuing potential cases against violators. Under the Act, EPA is authorized to assess fines of up to $37,500 per day for any violation of these regulations.
